That was the question a guitarist in my band, Bubble used to ask every night just before the curtain went up. For years, I jokingly asked that question in every band to every member. Now I am asking you…. seriously, are you ready to rock?
You can rock your life. Right now. It’s all there. Everything you need is inside of you waiting to be pulled out and utilized.
The other night, I was in a Toastmasters meeting as the Table Topics Master. I had prepared a bunch of questions designed to pull out people’s innermost dreams and secret ambitions. Everyone responded with lovely stories and exposed beautiful ambitions. But there was resistance. One man. The question was simple.
what puts a smile on your face?
The man responded with excuses. “I have to work to take care of my family. I do not have the choice to pursue my dreams. Maybe someday I can explore what makes me smile.”
I almost cried with his pain and his resistance. The stronger the pull of a dream, the greater the resistance. Believe me, I know!
I plan. I scheme. I dream. I scour the internet for sources of inspiration. I find them. Aha. This is the answer I have been looking for. Then I realize, it’s up to me. I have to do it. None of the self help gurus will do it for me.
You have the power of lions and angels inside of you. Strength+Bliss. Power+Beauty. Ferocity+Sensitivity.
You have greatness waiting to get out.
let out your greatness with a roar and then allow yourself to purr with joy. let your wings out gently to their fullest expanse.
You do rock. You are ready to rock. So am I. The amplifier is on eleven. Â The air is electric with anticipation. The lights are on. The curtain is going up. So I’ll ask you… are you ready to rock?
