Think you need expensive equipment to make high-quality videos for your business?
You soooo do not need expensive equipment to make high-quality videos for your business!
I have a special treat for you today (scroll down to the P.S. if you’re in a hurry for the treat!) but first I want to share with you…
The EASIEST way to create your own at-home studio for less than $200 bucks.
And NO, you don’t have to know anything about photography, videography, or learn any technical terms to do it.
Everything can be ordered online through Amazon, and all you need is an iPhone.
Oh, AND… even if you don’t have an iPhone, no worries!
You can still use half of this equipment AND I’ll help you out with the rest.
I explain everything in this short video, so watch it real quick, and then check out the extra tips below (with links to buy the equipment) and you’ll be making profesh looking videos in no time flat.
So cool, right?
Now, a couple extra tips:
Be sure not to over-tighten the stands or you’ll strip ‘em (and then they’ll get wobbly or fall apart… not good.). Be gentle!
Have a bit more budget? Get this kit instead! –> FancierStudio 2400 Watt Lighting Kit (Around $130-$150.)
Be sure to turn the phone sideways!!! If you leave it vertical (i.e., the way you look at it most of the time) you’ll get a funny-looking picture that is tall and has big black spaces on each side. Flip it on its side!
The mic has a pretty short cord. That means you can’t get very far away from the iPhone to film. If you want to be able to back away from the camera a little more (recommended so your face doesn’t take up the whole frame), you can grab an extension cord for only a few more bucks.
This backdrop actually shows up as ‘blue' on the website but as you can plainly see, it's gray. I wasn't bothered, as I just wanted an easy to use backdrop. Also, this backdrop is muslin (which I said I don’t like) but it’s stretched into a frame which eliminates the need to iron it (whew)!
So there you go, rockstar! For less than $200, with no hassles, you can put together a home studio to rival the pros.
NOTE: If you don’t have an iPhone, you can still use the backdrop and lighting kit! Pair those with the built-in camera in your computer and you’re good to go.

P.S. About that special treat!
Right now, I’m opening up spots in my calendar for 10 more lucky ducks to receive a totally FREE 15-minute “Creating Raving Fans With Video” session. (The first 10 were gone in a day!)
During this jammin’ (read: FUN) session, I’ll personally show you:
- How to catch your customer’s attention within the first 10 seconds of your videos (people decide THAT quickly whether to watch or not, so you gotta get ‘em interested right away!)
- The best way to blast through ANY techie conundrum (lighting, microphone, framing… or even just how to get started) so you can make video that leaves a lasting impression
- How to amp up your confidence about creating videos that make your customers fall in love with you—whether you’ve already made a few videos or are just starting out
These are the same principles I teach to private clients and in Video Rockstar University, but if you’re one of the first 10 to respond, I’ll share them with you absolutely free.
THE JUMPSTART WILL RETURN MAY 2015.
P.P.S. Attention dudes! (That means men, for the purposes of this P.S.)
In the past I've only offered VRU to women, but I've had so many requests from cool guys that I asked myself, “Why NOT include men?” Thus, I'm opening enrollment up to men for the first time. But you gotta know how to treat a lady, which includes 100% support of your classmates' efforts and no “friendly insulting” (you know what I'm talking about).
