The First Thing To Go Is The Thing You Need The Most

take time to do what makes your soul happy.

Do you dream of success?
Do you dream of being massively huge in your industry?
Do you dream of making it big? So big that you’re uber super duper crazy busy with assistants running around after you like kittens after a ball of yarn?

How do you look when you’re that super star success machine?

Do you suddenly have the perfect body? Gorgeous hair with nary a frizzy end in sight? Flawless skin that looks airbrushed like the cover of Nylon magazine?

Are you wearing awesomely hipster clothes that accent you in just the right way?

Do you visualize yourself throwing your head back (with gorgeous hair of course) as you sign documents, go through your day of calls and create your empire with ease and grace?

What is the first thing to go when you need it the most?

Self-Care.

Now, look around. Tell me what you see.

Better yet, look in the mirror. Now tell me what you see.

That image of the “joyously successful you” needs to start right now.

And it begins with self-care.

Typically, as soon as you get busy what’s the first thing you sacrifice?

  • Going to the gym.
  • Getting your nails done.
  • Taking a long walk.
  • Time out to read a book.
  • Lying on your back and watching the clouds. (only in good weather of course!)
  • Regular appointments with your hair dresser.
  • Shopping for clothing that makes you feel like a million bucks. (Even on a beer budget.)

As creative types, whether you’re an entrepreneur, an artist, a musician, a writer or some combination… I can tell you right now.

The life you create today is the one you’re creating tomorrow.

Are you with me?

Sure, when you achieve your mega success you WILL have that stream of assistants to help you with things.

However, if you don’t make YOU a priority right now, then when the s**t hits the fan and your schedule gets slammed, nobody else will make YOU a priority either.

FIVE YEARS OLD

Okay. Go back to the mirror. Look again.

Give yourself some love as if you were that five year old kid you once were. Yeah.

What would you tell your inner five year old about having fun?

What would you tell them about loving themselves? About taking care of themselves? About their food choices? How about that gym?

Now, the only thing you HAVE to do is to find a little teensy weensy chunk of time to schedule some self-love time.

Choose the activity in advance so you’re not staring at your device when it beeps: “Time For Self Care” and wondering what to do.

Take no more than two minutes and decide:

  • Book.
  • Nap.
  • Meditate for 10 minutes.
  • Paint your nails.
  • Write or doodle or draw.
  • Sing loudly. (even if it’s really really out of tune.)
  • Stretch.
  • Call a friend.

We keep appointments with our business associates and bankers. We show up on time for hair appointments and lunch dates.

Give yourself the same respect and attitude and show up for self care.

You will be living your ultimate life NOW. Not later.

You’ll be feeling like the rockstar you are right NOW.

Success isn’t a place. It’s a feeling. Grab it right now.

Welcome to your mega uber abundant life.
