Did I ever show you this video?
It was my entry into a contest to win a free ticket to rockstar entrepreneur Marie Forleo’s Rich, Happy & Hot LIVE in New York City just a couple short years ago.
I ended up winning a ticket that year (wooooo!!!) and a bunch of cool things happened as a result, but I wanted tell you a super quick story first.
Oh yeah, the story is right below the video. 🙂
Kinda fun, huh?
After I made that video and sent it off to Marie, I felt pretty darn good.
And when I found out I had won a ticket to her event, I felt even BETTER.
Yet nothing prepared me for how AMAZING I would feel when I showed up at Donna Karan’s Urban Zen in the heart of NYC, ready to soak up the event.
(I’ve played a lot of venues over the years, and I gotta tell ya, I was nervous about this one! Three hundred entrepreneurs I’ve never met before? And me without a bass guitar for security? Scary!!!)
So when I walked in the door the first day—I was floored.
Three hundred women I’d never met in my life ALL knew me.
“Share! Your video rocked! I totally have a girl crush on you!”
I heard it again and again.
Not only did these women know me, but they’d fallen in love with me because of a simple little 2-minute video.
(A video that took me less than 3 hours to make including editing time.)
And that’s when I knew I was onto something good.
See, I’m really, really interested in making your life rock—even MORE than any of Vixen’s platinum hits.
(You DID know I played bass in the all-girl 80s platinum band Vixen, yeah? Not for nothing, but we helped put girl bands on the map.)
And I LOVE seeing the transformations happen around video. It’s amazing on so many levels.
But probably the most important one is this.
When you show up on video as a hundred percent you, people fall sooooo in love with you that they can’t HELP but become your customers.And this is good—because you have this amazing thing to share with the world, right?
(Even though nobody knows about it cuz you’re too busy trying to write out your ideas and getting nowhere!)
And when I realized how HOT video could be for the women I work with… I. Was. Hooked.
Which is why we’re here today.
You and me, face to face.
*Cue record scratch*
Well, NO we’re not face to face…
